Washington Ceiling Medallion

PRO TIP: The Canopy goes on top of the medallion not in the hole.The medallion goes on the ceiling first then the lighting fixture or fan is installed. Generally the hole in the medallion only needs to be wide enough to pass the electrical wires through. After the medallion is secured to the ceiling with construction adhesive and a few nail / screws the fixture is installed and the canopy is then attached to cover the hole in the medallion.
Medallions come in 1 or 2 piece version’s. If you do not wish to totally take down your light fixture or fan just loosen and release the canopy and install a 2-piece medallion. Then secure the canopy on top of the medallion
